About the artist
Andrew was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, as a twin with several siblings that have albinism. These genetic traits not only influence his artistic perspective with science and nature but also shape his exploration of design with family history and lore. Growing up with a mother that encouraged creativity, Andrew began drawing and painting at a young age. By 16, he had earned Scholastic Gold Key awards on a national level, and had started exploring fashion digitally. He later moved to New York to study fashion design at Parsons School of Design, focusing on menswear and tailoring.
During school, he traveled through Europe, learning techniques of fine art in Kardjali, Bulgaria, with artist Hristo Gaberov. He interned at Diane von Fürstenberg, learning embroidery, print, and pattern, and he participated in Digital Fashion Week, making 3D-rendered designs.
He was hired at Macy’s immediately after school and worked in ready-to-wear with brands Maison Jules and Bar III, then moving into men’s furnishings focusing on being a print and pattern designer for Alfani, Bar III, Clubroom, INC, and Tasso Elba, He grew from assistant to associate and then designer level in that role.
